  • Mike King
    Marina Manager

Mike King (known as Mick) has been involved with boats all his life. He is very well acquainted with the whole waterways system from Bedford to Denver and enjoys weekend trips on his boat out to the Wash, East Coast harbours and the North Sea.

Mick’s professional life has chiefly been in the motor trade, starting as an apprentice with a local Rover, Land Rover and Jaguar dealership. Then moving on to Ford, followed by GM Vauxhall where he became a Technical District Manager and travelled the UK and occasionally abroad, trouble shooting their retail, fleet and emergency services. He also started his own vehicle repair business at the age of 21 which he ran for 14 years.

On the boating side, he moved from dinghy sailing to water skiing then motor cruising, currently owning a Ranger 36, his 5th motor cruiser. He has restored his current boat over the last 10 years, including the engines and is at the moment refitting her aft cabin.

Cruising mostly on the River Ouse, Mick and his family also usually take a two week holiday at sea, cruising coastal waters.

Please leave no clutter, untidy cables or cycles on pontoons, these can cause a trip hazard and can impede access.
Children must be supervised at all times and must not ride in the trolleys. Lifejackets are advisable.
