Popular due to its perfect location, modern facilities and brilliant staff.

Wigrams Turn is a 225 berth marina for narrowboat and wide beam vessels, offering 300 miles of cruising on the Grand Union and Oxford Canals. It hosts superb on-site amenities including 5* shower and toilet facilities, moorer's lounge, onsite shop, fuel, pump out, housekeeping and engineering services. It now also has a fantastic caravan and camping site running along side with 5 additional wooden style camping pods.

Just 20 minutes drive from the M40, M42, M1 and M6, Wigrams Turn is perfectly situated for both permanent moorings and visiting boats. It is also home to a hire fleet and several share boats.

The grounds are thoughtfully landscaped incorporating picnic benches and a garden for social events. We are a dog friendly marina and have a separate dog walking area and dog shower.

We host several berth holder events throughout the year including a summer fun day with live music, crafts, and a barbecue. There is even a regular visit from a fish and chip van. The staff are rightfully very proud of Wigrams and it shows in the glowing reports we receive from customers.

  • Lol Harrison
    Part Time Dockmaster
  • Brian Clensy
    Part Time Harbourmaster
After 15 years in Production Management, Brian re-trained as an Acupuncturist in the late 1970’s and has run his own practice in Coventry for the last 36 years. Having owned a boat for the last 10 years, he now lives on a 70ft narrowboat in Wigrams with his wife, Maureen, and dogs Harry and Twiggy. “Having cut down my practice to 3 days per week, I am enjoying this alternative lifestyle working with the team here at Wigrams.”
  • Lucy Lawrence
    Housekeeping

Lucy Lawrence joined the marina team as full time Housekeeper in April 2017. Lucy has worked in the industry for many years and we were thrilled to welcome her to Wigrams.

Lucy will work closely with Danni to ensure the marina facilities, share boats and hire fleet are cleaned to the highest standard.

  • Martyn Tilson
    Part Time Harbourmaster & Accounts

Born and bred in Coventry and nearby towns, Martyn spent most of his career in accountancy or employment and health and safety law. He bought his first narrow boat in the late 90's after 10 years of hiring.

He was lured away from the high mileage, high pressure environment in 2004 to manage Calcutt Boats Marina. After 10 successful years he moved onto his narrowboat and set off to explore the system. Over wintering at Wigrams Turn proved a bad move for the retirement plan as the staff proved such a good team he succumbed to the opportunity to join part time as harbourmaster and latterly accounts.

He lives on site on his boat with wife Sue and Connie the dog.

  • Roz Gallagher
Part Time Admin Assistant (Ventnor/Wigrams Turn)

Roz joins the teams at Wigrams Turn and Ventnor Marinas to help with Admin on a part time basis.

Over the years Roz has worked in admin roles in various industries from software to aerospace.  Now she says "I am lucky enough to work in a place where I can look forward to going to, amid beautiful surroundings".

She lives in Rugby with my husband Mark and cat Loki.  They love spending time in the mountains here and abroad, but she is looking forward to learning more about canal living.  She also enjoy horse riding, wine making, home entertainment and Formula 1.

  • Gary Morgan
    Harbourmaster

After 35 years in the motor industry working as a General Sales Manager and
latterly as a Regional Manager for a Vehicle Technology company, Gary
decided that there was more to life than driving 50000 miles a year on
business. Having enjoyed several narrow boat holidays, 3 years ago Gary and
his wife Sue decided to leave their jobs, sell their house and bought a
narrow boat, spending the next 3 years traveling around exploring Britain's
    waterways.

Originally from West London Gary, Sue and their dog Rosie love their new
lifestyle living on their narrow boat at Wigrams Turn Marina. Gary really
enjoys the variety of his new role which fully embraces his new lifestyle.

  • Steve Chapman
    Marina Manager

Steve was Harbour Master for Black Prince before becoming Assistant Marina Manager at Ventnor. He still works across both marinas, preferring to be out and about. He can be seen providing wharf side services, completing routine maintenance and Black Prince handovers. Prior to joining the marina team he had held various  front line to senior managerial roles within the building industry, retail and co-operative businesses.

Steve’s’ love of boats has been a lifelong passion. His first vessel was a 16’ powerboat which he used for water skiing off the northeast coast!

Steve and his wife Julie, relocated to Warwickshire in 1994. They immediately fell in love with the inland waterways and purchased their first narrowboat in 1995. They now live onboard their widebeam boat with their gorgeous little Cavalier King Charles, Woody.

  • Chris Wray
    Engineer
Chris bought his narrowboat from Great Haywood Boat Sales a couple of years ago and he now keeps his boat at Wigrams Turn and works there as an Engineer/Harbourmaster.
Originally from York, he previously worked as a self employed landscape contractor.

His role at the marina is chiefly engineering but also includes harbour master duties and site maintenance and he loves the variety role gives him.

When he is not at work you can spot him around the marina walking his dog Rocky. He also likes to get out onto the canals with his boat whenever he can.

  • Gary Scott
    Senior Engineer

Gary Scott ‘Scotty’ has recently joined the team as Senior Engineer. We are delighted by the appointment as Scotty brings many years of marine engineering experience, plus a big smile.

Oxford Canal

The Oxford canal journies through 77 miles of picturesque scenery from Oxford to Coventry. Amongst its many attractions is its unspoilt, peaceful route. Mercifully it has managed to avoid any large-scale developments, so few towns have sprung up on its banks. The southern section is particularly charming and remains largely unaltered.

Grand Union Canal

The Grand Union Canal runs a total of 137 miles, with branches to towns along the way. It is the trunk route of Britain's canal network linking from London, through the Chilterns with Birmingham. It offers a wide variety of landscapes, wildlife, buildings, architecture and historic craft for you to discover.
