Marina Plan

Trinity is located in the Heart of England on the beautiful Ashby Canal in Hinckley, Leicestershire in close proximity to the M1, M6 and M69 motorways, and just off the A5 (Watling Street).

The excellent location boasts over 40 miles of lock-free canals for you to explore all year round, and with the Grand Union Canal at Braunston just 30 miles away its a great spot from which to explore Britain’s canal network.

Sister marinas Kings Bromley, Wigrams Turn, Ventnor and Crick all within easy reach, it’s a fantastic opportunity to take advantage of our Flexible Berthing offer and explore further afield, with peace of mind.

With 150 berths we host a number of moorings on the Linear and a further 100 berths on high quality pontoons inside the marina, suitable for boat lengths from 40ft up to 72ft.

The Marina has its own brokerage, a shop with chandlery and off-licence, and being situated in a retail park means restaurants, hotels and shops are within walking distance.

All the usual facilities are here, from fuel and gas to pumpout and elsan. We offer free toilets, showers and (paid) laundry plus free parking next to the pontoons.

Marina Safety
At Trinity Marina our primary function is to offer a safe, secure and enjoyable boating environment for all our boating customers. We want you to get the most out of your canal or narrowboating on the UK’s inland waterways plus be able to keep your boat in a marina with the best facilities and services.
To achieve this we draw all moorers attention to the following boat and marina safety points.

There are several potential hazards within a marina environment. Pontoons are slippery when wet and icy. Please take care and wear suitable footwear. Please also take extra care at night and in strong winds.

Please do not leave any clutter, untidy cables or cycles on pontoons, these can cause a trip hazard and can impede access.

Children must be supervised at all times and must not ride in the trollies. Lifejackets are advisable.

In the event of a difficulty please contact the marina office immediately. You may want to make a note of the out of hours contact number. Harbourmasters are contactable 24 hours a day seven days a week.

Life rings and extinguishers are located around the Marina.

There is a first aid station in the Marina Office

Smoking is strictly prohibited along the length of the service quay area particularly near to the Pump Out, Diesel, Bottled Gas and Fuel areas.

Our staff are there to help you. If you doubt your ability to manoeuvre your boat in the prevailing conditions do alert the Harbourmasters who will be happy to assist.

Any damage to pontoons, facilities or boats should be reported to the Marina Office immediately.

Please also do not allow oil contaminated bilge effluent to be discharged into the marina and be aware that hot central heating or engine exhausts can scorch wooden pontoons.

Ashby canal
Sub title

The Ashby-de-la-Zouch Canal is a 31-mile (50 km) long canal in England which connected the mining district around Moira, just outside the town of Ashby-de-la-Zouch, with the Coventry Canal at Bedworth in Warwickshire. It was opened in 1804, and a number of tramways were constructed at its northern end, to service collieries. The canal was taken over by the Midland Railway in 1846, but remained profitable until the 1890s, after which it steadily declined. Around 9 miles (14 km) passed through the Leicestershire coal field, and was heavily affected by subsidence, with the result that this section from Moira, southwards to Snarestone, was progressively closed in 1944, 1957 and 1966, leaving 22 miles (35 km) of navigable canal.
