Since opening in 1996, Crick Marina has quickly become one of the most sought-after marinas in the country, based on its unspolled and central location, and since 2000, it has been the home of the famous Crick Boat show.

Despite its convenient position just a mile from the M1 and close to the bustling towns of Rugby and Northampton, Crick is deliciously peaceful.

On arrival, it is very easy to adjust to the slower, more leisurely pace, set by the friendly moorers and approachable staff. Crick Marina has a has a unique character, with all the traits of a traditional country retreat. blended with modern facilities, a professional, knowledgeable team and on site marine services.

Crick accommodates 270 fully serviced berths across 2 basins, suitable for narrowboats and cruisers. Sitting directly on the Grand Union Canal on a 21-mile lock-free pound it promotes relaxed weekends afloat, yet also provides easy access to all major cruising routes.

The marina benefits a fully enclosed dry dock, managed by Crick Docking Services and a boat brokerage operated in conjunction with ABNB Ltd.

Berth holders can also enjoy FREE Wi-Fi and FREE weekend passes for Crick Boat Show, held every year on the second May Bank Holiday Weekend.

  • Mark Stevenson
    Marina Manager

Maybe it’s because I’m a Londoner, that I love meeting people!

From a long varied background in sales with Unilever through to my own company selling electric vehicles (in those early days!).

I found myself getting hooked onto narrowboats after a short visit to the Paddington Cavalcade with my partner Donna. Now I am delighted to find myself here in the midlands at Crick. Deputising at Cropredy marina when she was still fairly new it was a baptism of water for me, I have learned much along the way and now am gratified to be a heading the team here at Crick since November 2017. The best marina on the system!

My aim is to ensure your stay here is relaxing, secure and as enjoyable as possible. I look forward to welcoming new and valued moorers alike in my role here as manager.

    Happy boating!

  • Ron Weil

Having lived on a narrowboat for a few years (after another "I've been thinking" moment by my wife, Jane), I was very excited to be offered the job of Harbourmaster at Crick Marina.

I have had a varied working life from Tax Officer to working in warehouses. Other roles have included being a Rehousing Officer, dealing with claims for vibration white finger and carrying out initial inspections and reports for insurance companies.

The majority of my jobs have been customer-facing roles that I have found enjoyable and at times challenging. Now I am here meeting and working with the friendliest group of people I know – narrowboaters.

I feel that with my experience, I will be able to utilise these skills in my position of Harbourmaster. I am looking forward to building on these to help maintain and reinforce the quality and reputation of Crick Marina.

  • Jackie Errington
    Administration Manager

I joined the team here at Crick Marina in September 2020, taking over the admin role from Hilary.

I have lived on a narrowboat for 18 years now, with 11 of those years being on The Great River Ouse in Bedford, before moving here to Crick Marina in 2014.

I have worked around narrowboats since April 2014 when I joined ABNB Boat Brokerage, and previously before that I worked for Hertfordshire then Bedfordshire police in an admin role for 13 years.

I’m looking forward to seeing the growth and expansion of Castle Boat Sales and I am very much looking forward to being a part of that as well as working within the Crick Marina office.

  • Jayne Newman

Having lived at Crick Marina for the last 7 years and maintained the grounds as a contractor for the same period.

I was very pleased to be asked if I would take one of the new Harbourmaster roles.

In my new role which incorporates the grounds care and other site functions I get the best of both worlds and work in a great environment.

I bring to my new position many years of experience from my early days of being green keeper to owning my own landscaping business and much more in-between.

Within my new wider role, I continue to upkeep and improve the grounds and get to meet moorers and visitor to the site which I enjoy very much.

  • Greg Farrar

When I joined the team at Crick Marina in September 2018 I had been living on my boat since 2012.

I enjoy very much working and living on the canal.

After a career in building maintenance with Kodak & John Lewis amongst others finishing as a Building Services Manager in 2009. After which I worked on a variety of jobs including working in a garden nursery taking responsibility for the care of the stock of a wide and varied range of plant and trees. I also worked preparing and turning around narrow boats working on the Oxfordshire Narrow Boats hire fleet at Lower Heyford, a part of the canal system I know very well.

In my role as a Harbourmaster at Crick Marina I can work around narrow boats in this great part of the country.
