Castle Marinas is delighted to announce the acquisition of Brinklow Marina, situated between Coventry and Rugby

The marina was built on a green field site in 2005 and joins the 11 marinas now owned by Castle Marinas

Featuring 200 berths set within 22 acres of landscaped grounds, and with 360° views of beautiful open country, it really is “a breath of fresh air”. Its situation, having access to the Oxford Canal (Northern Arm), and within easy reach of the Grand Union and Ashby Canals, makes it an ideal base to explore the midlands network.

“We are so excited to have an opportunity to develop the huge potential of this site and to bring the marina up to our exacting ‘Castle’ standards, It’s very much a blank canvas at the moment, but when we’ve waved the Castle magic wand over it we’ll be able to offer a fantastic base for our customers to safely explore our wonderful canal heritage”. Mike Braidley, Operations Director at Castle

The addition of Brinklow brings the Castle inventory to 2600 berths, making it the country’s largest privately-owned group  and yet its mission of being ‘big enough to cope and small enough to care’ means each marina develops and retains its own identity and quirks, an approach which has led to great customer loyalty.

Amongst other benefits, the Castle ‘flexiberthing scheme’ means Brinklow joins other marinas in the Group to create a safe touring extended network. Castle currently offers an allowance to help new moorers with relocation to our sites.

  • Dave Trivett
    Marina Manager

With a professional background in fields as varied as Managing Director of a telecommunications business to singer and guitarist for several folk-rock bands, Dave has always found the time to enjoy navigating the inland waterways of the UK with his wife Liz.

Keen to enhance the existing spirit of the place, Dave looks forward to helping build a perfect haven of serenity and calm in the beautiful, rolling Warwickshire countryside that pays host to Brinklow.

  • Mark Willmott
    Harbour Master

I am so pleased to take up the position of Harbour Master at Brinklow marina. Having been a constant cruiser for the last 5 years I like to think my enthusiasm for boating is infectious.

I joined the Royal navy at the age of 16 serving at home and overseas as an Aircraft engineer. After leaving the Navy I worked for ten years as  Cabin crew  for British Airways flying out of Heathrow and Gatwick Airports.

Having broken my ankle Paragliding I worked for myself running a guest house in Portsmouth. My outside work interest is playing the Bass guitar in a Queen tribute band having played many festivals and shows around the world.

Hopefully, I will meet you at our wonderful Marina very soon!
