Turn right out of the marina and you will soon find yourself at Fradley junction, continue on through the small flight of locks and you will come to Alrewas, famous for the National Memorial Arboretum, followed by the historic town of Burton Upon Trent with brewery tours nearby. Alternatively, turn right at Fradley Junction onto the Coventry Canal here you have the option of continuing all the way to Coventry or turn right at Fazeley Junction taking you past Drayton Manor Park & Zoo and the up into the heart of Birmingham.
Turn left out of the marina passing through Rugeley with plenty of canalside shops. Then only one lock before you reach Shugborough Hall, a National Trust property. One more lock and you reach Great Haywood Junction, straight on to Stone and Stoke on Trent or left and you enter Tixall Wide. Travelling along the Staffs & Worcs you will pass through the market town of Penkridge and then up to the beautiful Round House at Gailey. You can then continue all the way to Stourport or alternatively at Autherley Junction take a left up the twenty one locks to Birmingham and the Black Country Museum or right through the quirky stop lock and up the beautiful Shropshire Union.
