Welcome to Royal Clarence Marina

Royal Clarence Marina, close to the entrance of Portsmouth Harbour, offers sheltered marina berthing for boats looking for easy access to the Solent and the English Channel beyond. An ideal location for some south coast cruising at sensible prices.

For Yachts and Motor boats Royal Clarence Marina has an unmatched combination of a great location (shoreside and from the sea); pontoon marina berths of up to 18 metres (special pontoons for much bigger or deeper draft boats); perfect berthing and marina facilities for rallies and events; and is situated just a short ferry journey away from the popular Gunwharf Quays with its shops, restaurants, bars and cinema.

Our 180 fully serviced pontoon berths in Portsmouth Harbour welcomes boats for 12 month berths, Winter and Summer berths as well as overnight visitors.

With the backdrop of the former Royal Navy victualing yard, Royal Clarence Marina has a traditional maritime feel with views over Portsmouth's historical dockyard and the Spinnaker Tower from across the harbour in Gosport.

Plus berth holders at Royal Clarence Marina benefit from reciprocal free berthing with Castle's marina in Chichester Harbour Birdham Pool Marina. In effect this means the choice of two marinas for the price of one.

If you are looking for a marina rally destination for your yacht club event or if you need a deeper or larger berth than most boats with heavier duty pontoons or if you simply want your boat to be close to the Solent and great facilities on the South Coast why not give us a call. Our staff would be delighted to show you our facilities and explain the benefits of berthing at Royal Clarence Marina and our competitive berthing prices.

Permission must also be obtained from QHM control if you wish to cross the Harbour to and from Gunwharf Quays and The Camber Dock.

Users of the Harbour should make themselves fully aware of the contents of the order and copies are available from the Bridgehead Office.

Rallies and Upcoming Events

Royal Clarence Marina was specifically designed to cater for rallies and events and offers exceptional space and facilities on the pontoons.

'B' pontoon is a heavy duty pontoon with higher freeboard to be able to accept vessels up to 60 metres loa and has a 3 phase (125amp) power supply.

Royal Clarence Marina can provide over 350 metres of berthing for sailing events and rallies in a perfect location just inside the entrance to Portsmouth Harbour. Plus plenty of space for shoreside events and all the facilities you could need for a perfect rally. The marina has the deepest water basins in the South of England.  Being the most recent home of the Clipper Ventures fleet.

The bane of any rally organisers life is the venue. When dealing with boating rallies it can be an extra trial. Often the venues that are perfectly located in terms of their distance and location are the venues that cannot accommodate berthing requirements or they do not have enough adequate facilities ashore.
A short ferry trip to Gunwharf Quays with its shops, restaurants, bars, cinema etc and also very convenient for the Solent and the Isle of Wight, Royal Clarence can cope with every demand a rally group could make.
Royal Clarence has:-
  •     A great location in Portsmouth Harbour
  •     Centrally located on the South Coast
  •     Easy accesibliltiy
  •     Plenty of Berthing space even for boats up to 60m LOA and with deep keels
  •     Plenty of onshore space for Rally events
  •     Great Facilities
  •     Extra amenities close by
  •     Special discounts for Rallies
